The Diplomatico Cancilleres is a medium to full-bodied cigar, that measures 5 1/8 inches long with a 50 ring gauge, rather than the 5 by 52 size as previously reported. Despite what the name might suggest, “Cancilleres” doesn’t mean “canceled” in Spanish — it translates to “chancellors.”
When Habanos S.A. announced that it was adding a new size to the Diplomaticos brand, it marked the first new regular-production vitola for the line in decades. The cigar was originally expected to feature a pigtail cap, a style of cap typically reserved for high-end Cohibas.
However, when the new Diplomaticos Cancilleres made its global debut a few days ago in Sofia, Bulgaria, the cigars arrived without the expected pigtail cap. Instead, they featured a more traditional cap.
