Churchwarden pipes have long stems that generally produce a cool smoke that helps to prevent tongue bites. These pipes use aged Briar, that are offered at an exceptional value.
This style of pipe can be traced back to the eighteenth century.
Churchwardens pipes were reputedly named after the Churchwardens who used to put the pipe stems outside of the church windows so they could smoke in church, when smoking a pipe was allowed.
